The travertine is a natural stone prized in the field of tiling and outdoor paving for its many aesthetic and technical qualities. This stone (a limestone) offers a wide range of formats and finishes such as the aged (tumbled) finish,
with shades of beige or a subtle mix of natural colours (brown, beige, white). Thanks to its unique texture and natural effect, travertine suits both indoor use and outdoor use. In stock in different thicknesses and formats, this product is a preferred choice for creating a floor or a terrace with a high-end finish. With a varied range of references, travertine stands out as a premium product for all your projects.

The outdoor travertine tile is a preferred choice for floors and paving of terraces, swimming pools or other outdoor spaces. This natural stone offers a unique rustic effect thanks to its beige shades and its often aged finish, perfectly suited to outdoor constraints. The reinforced thickness of 3 cm for natural stone guarantees increased resistance to frost and heavy loads, unlike thinner indoor travertine. Our products in stock are selected for their robustness and durability, meeting the technical requirements of outdoor floors. Outdoor travertine combines natural aesthetics and performance to create a warm and durable terrace or pool surround. Its Roman opus or rectangular look also allows a wide variety of formats for a made-to-measure installation.

For outdoor use, we favour robust and thick formats to ensure excellent durability. Travertine in 3 cm thickness is ideal for laying on outdoor floors accessible to vehicles or terraces, offering strength and stability. The available formats include the famous Opus IV, with its slabs in varied dimensions (61x40.6 cm, 40.6x40.6 cm, etc.) for a natural mix effect, as well as more classic formats such as 61x40.6 cm rectangular. As an alternative to natural stone, outdoor travertine-effect porcelain stoneware is offered in 2 cm thickness, perfect for modern terraces, pool edges or public spaces. We notably have large formats of 120x60 cm for a contemporary style. All these products are available in stock with fast delivery, for an easy and efficient choice.

The aged finishes are particularly recommended for outdoor surfaces because they offer a natural non-slip texture and a highly sought-after rustic look. This type of finish also helps better camouflage signs of wear caused by weather and frequent traffic. Aged travertine pairs perfectly with beige, ivory, or silver tones, creating a warm and elegant palette for your outdoor spaces. Smoother finishes or honed finishes are mostly reserved for indoor use, as they can be slippery outdoors. With us, you will find a wide choice of aged-finish products in natural travertine and in stone-effect porcelain stoneware to combine aesthetics and safety.

Our prices for outdoor travertine tiles reflect the premium quality of natural stone and the robustness required for outdoor use:

The outdoor travertine tile offers an ideal blend of natural aesthetics and robustness. The natural stone benefits from excellent frost resistance thanks to its suitable thickness (3 cm), as well as its water-repellent and oil-repellent treatment (The MN Fleckstop notably protects against water, oil, grease and other everyday stains). Its aged effect provides a non-slip surface that is essential around pools or on terraces, ensuring safety and comfort. Unlike wood or conventional ceramic coverings, travertine is less sensitive to climatic variations and requires little maintenance. It also enhances your outdoor space with its noble and timeless look, blending perfectly into gardens or natural spaces. Finally, our wide palette of shades ranging from ivory to silver beige allows perfect harmony with your environment.

At Minéral, every stone is certified and compliant with the standards in force.

Maintenance of outdoor travertine tiles is simple but essential to extend their lifespan. It is advisable to apply a water-repellent treatment as soon as the tiles are laid to protect the natural stone against water and stains. Regular cleaning must be done with a neutral and non-aggressive product, specially designed for natural stone or outdoor surfaces. Avoid acidic or abrasive products, which may damage the aged finish. In case of stubborn dirt, cleaning with hot water and a soft brush is recommended. For optimal maintenance, the use of specialist products, such as those from the brand Lithofin, the reference for natural stone, is recommended. Thanks to this good maintenance, your travertine terrace will keep its charm and robustness season after season.

Yes, outdoor travertine is perfectly suited for pool surrounds thanks to its non-slip properties and its excellent resistance to frost and moisture. The aged (tumbled) finish
is particularly recommended for this use. See our dedicated page on pool travertine tiles (FAQ, advice, prices...)

For those looking for even lower maintenance, the outdoor travertine-effect porcelain stoneware (available in black, rustic and light) is an excellent alternative. Available in 120 x 60 cm formats or 60 x 60 cm, and in 2 cm thickness, it offers a very realistic stone effect with a palette of beige shades, ivory, or dark shades (dark). This material withstands frost, UV and outdoor wear perfectly, while being easy to install and maintain. Porcelain stoneware is also often preferred for high-traffic or commercial-use areas, offering an excellent compromise between aesthetics and robustness. We have a large selection in stock to help you design your outdoor floors.

The choice of outdoor travertine tile must take several essential criteria into account:
