  • No. The pavers selected by Minéral are natural stones that are dense, closed, and have low porosity, which significantly limits dirt from embedding and makes them easier to maintain.

However, as with all light-colored outdoor surfaces, tire marks may be slightly more visible on a light beige shade than on a more nuanced or darker stone.

This generally remains superficial and can be easily removed with cleaning products suitable for natural stone.

It should be noted that, as with concrete pavers, these marks are primarily visible during the first few months when the stone's pores are still open. With the natural patina that forms over time, they become much less visible and generally no longer an issue in daily life.

Answers to your questions about paving stones

How to calculate the number of pavers per square meter?

At Minéral, the number of pavers per m² is already indicated on the price list. The joints are automatically deducted, thus avoiding a costly surplus of material. For example, for 10 x 10 cm pavers with a 1 cm joint, the joint represents more than 15% of the surface area.

If you wish to calculate it yourself:

  • Formula:

→ Number of pavers = Area to cover (m²) / Area of one paver (m²)

  • Example:

Paver measuring 30 x 30 cm (i.e., 0.09 m² per paver)

Area to cover: 10 m²

10 / 0.09 = 112 pavers (rounded)

  • Tip: Allow for 5 to 10% extra pavers for cuts and adjustments.

How to lay natural stone pavers?

Laying natural stone pavers requires careful preparation of the sub-base to ensure the stability and durability of the installation.

Depending on the intended use (pedestrian walkway, patio, or driveway), several techniques are possible: laying on a gravel bed, on draining mortar, or bonding to a concrete slab. The choice of joint type, foundation preparation, and adherence to slopes are also essential elements for achieving a lasting result.

How to maintain your pavers?

Maintaining natural stone pavers is essential to preserve their original appearance, whether they are made of Kandla sandstone, travertine, or porphyry. To ensure the durability of your outdoor pavers, it is important to adopt the right practices:

  • Sweep regularly to prevent the accumulation of plant residues, moss, or debris that can retain water.
  • Avoid high-pressure cleaners that are too powerful or aggressive products (hydrochloric acid, bleach) that can alter the stone's surface, especially aged, cleaved, or brushed finishes.
  • Prefer professional cleaning products for natural stone, designed to respect the porosity of the materials.
  • For travertine or light limestone pavers, apply a water and oil repellent after installation to limit the absorption of greasy stains or moisture.

At Minéral, you will find suitable maintenance accessories as well as personalized advice in our branches to extend the beauty of your outdoor floors.

What are the special features of the paving stones offered by Minéral?

The natural stone paving market is vast, with hundreds of options available. At Minéral, we've made a different choice: to prioritize a curated range, made up of materials we know perfectly and select for their technical and aesthetic qualities.

Our pavers are chosen for their excellent resistance to everyday stresses, bad weather, frost, and climatic variations. Each stone is selected for its durability, natural appearance, and its ability to retain its look over the years, even in the most exposed settings.

We also believe that a successful project relies on true visual consistency. That's why our pavers can generally be combined with slabs, pool coping, steps, edgings, or palisades made from the same natural stone, to create a harmonious exterior. For specific projects, custom cuts and fabrications are also possible.

Our direct relationship with quarries and producers allows us to control the quality of the materials from their origin while limiting intermediaries. This approach guarantees excellent value for money, long-term availability of references, and a selection of stones that meet our requirements.

Our ambition is simple: to offer natural stone pavers that we would still choose for our own landscaping today, and that we will continue to recommend for years to come.
