ALL ABOUT HAINAUT BLUESTONE
Would you like to know more about Hainaut Blue Stone? In our FAQ, you'll find information about its characteristics, colours, uses, and price. Also, discover the difference between
Hainaut Blue Stone and Belgian Blue Stone, as well as our advice for choosing your natural stone paving, cobbles, or stepsaccording to your project, your ground, and the desired layout.
The Hainaut bluestone is a Belgian natural stone appreciated for its characteristic color and mineral look. It is a limestone whose shades can range from blue-gray to darker tones, sometimes close to black, depending
on the finish and the work done on the surface.
This stone is historically associated with Belgium and in particular with Hainaut. It has long been used for paving, floors and various architectural and landscaping elements. At Minéral, you can find this stone through
our PIERRE BLEUE BELGE collection. We offer in particular
paving, pavers, a natural step and stone crust.
The variations in color and texture are specific to this natural material. Each slab may therefore have a slightly different appearance, contributing to the authentic character of the floor or landscaping once completed.
The terms Hainaut Bluestone and Belgian Bluestone are closely related. The first puts more emphasis on the geographical origin in Hainaut, whereas the name Belgian Bluestone is commonly used to designate this natural stone from Belgium.
At Minéral, our products are marketed under the name PIERRE BLEUE BELGE. You will find in particular our paving, our pavers, our natural step and our stone crust. This stone is characterized by predominantly
blue-grey shades that can vary depending on the finish, size and surface treatment. A rough look, for example, will not give exactly the same result as a more worked surface.
For your project, it is therefore important not to rely only on the name. The format, thickness, finish and intended use of the product should also be checked in order to select the stone that matches your project.
A Hainaut bluestone paving makes it possible to create a floor with a natural character and deep nuances. The choice of slabs must, however, take into account the intended use of the surface, the look sought and the characteristics of the product.
At Minéral, our BELGIAN BLUESTONE paving recreates the characteristic look of this stone. Its grey and dark blue tones can easily fit into a contemporary home as well as a more traditional setting.
Before choosing your paving, several points should be checked: the dimensions of the slabs, their thickness, the surface finish and the type of laying planned. The natural variations between pieces give the floor more depth. When laying, it can therefore be useful to spread the shades to obtain a harmonious whole.
See the Minéral product page to find the formats and characteristics available for your project.
The Hainaut blue stone can find its place in different interior design projects, provided you select a product that matches the intended use. Its subdued color makes it possible, in particular, to create a contrast with light walls or warmer materials.
A blue stone floor can, for example, bring a mineral dimension to an entrance or to different rooms of the house. Its shades of gray, blue and sometimes black allow it to blend into varied decorative styles.
The stone can also be considered in a bathroom, taking into account the constraints specific to this environment and the finish of the product.
At Minéral, our paving in BELGIAN BLUE STONE makes it possible to make the most of the aesthetics of this natural material for different projects. Before installation, however, you should check the characteristics of the product, in particular its thickness, its dimensions and the nature of its surface.
The Hainaut bluestone can bring a strong character to a terrace, garden or outdoor landscaping project. Its grey-blue tones notably create an interesting contrast with vegetation, wood and the façades of the house.
The choice of product depends on the surface to be covered. The paving makes it possible to work on large areas, while the BELGIAN BLUESTONE paver offers a different look and can be used to structure certain paths or outdoor zones.
Minéral also offers a natural step in BELGIAN BLUESTONE, making it possible to complete a layout with different levels or a staircase.
To obtain a consistent result, it is important to take into account the colour, dimensions and finish of the various elements. Outdoor constraints must also be considered in order to choose a reference suited to the intended use.
The price of Hainaut bluestone depends on the type of product, its dimensions, its thickness, its finish and the work done on the material. The price of paving will therefore not necessarily be comparable to that of a paver or a step.
For a floor or terrace project, the number of m² to cover is also an essential factor in determining the budget. You need to calculate the surface required while taking into account the needs related to cutting and installation.
At Minéral, you can directly check the prices of our references sold under the name PIERRE BLEUE BELGE: paving, paver, natural step and crust.
However, price should not be the only criterion. To compare products, also consider the format, finish, thickness, use and appearance of the stone in order to select the solution suited to your project.
