ALL ABOUT GEOTEXTILES
Geotextile is an essential protective fabric for your outdoor landscaping: it limits weed growth, protects the soil, and facilitates drainage. Ideal for gardens, ponds, or under gravel, Plantex Gold geotextile felt is durable, permeable, and lightweight. Usable as mulch, it allows water to pass through while blocking weeds. This product is available in rolls, in stock, with fast delivery or in-store pickup.
It is an essential product for any garden project, as it separates, filters and protects soils while making drainage easier. This permeable fabric prevents weeds from growing without hindering the flow of water, making it a perfect solution for mulching. It is particularly useful under gravel, around edging, or under artificial turf. The Plantex Gold geotextile, sold at Minéral, is a quality, robust, lightweight product that is easy to install. Available as a roll 25 metres wide, it is highly appreciated by our customers for its effectiveness and its long-term strength. It also stabilises sloping ground, particularly on embankments. Whether you are a private individual or a professional, this fabric is an essential for any landscaping project. It is available in stock, with fast shipping across France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, and can be ordered cut to measure as needed.
There are two main families. The non-woven geotextile, such as the Plantex Gold offered at Minéral, is ideal for weed protection and landscaping. This flexible felt is made of heat-bonded polypropylene fibers, which gives it optimal permeability and great strength. It lets water and fertilizers through while blocking the light needed for the germination of weeds.
By contrast, the woven geotextile is more rigid and used mainly for technical applications: separating layers of soil, reinforcement under terraces, gravel, or driveable paths. Its weave of crossed strips ensures high mechanical strength but lower permeability.
At Minéral, we have selected Plantex Gold, a high-quality product, perfectly suited to the garden, ponds and plantings. It is sold by the roll, and delivered across France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
To choose the right one, take into account the use, the type of soil, the length, the width, and the required resistance.
The installation of Plantex Gold is simple, quick, and requires few accessories. Before installation, start by weeding the area and levelling the ground. Then, unroll the fabric directly onto the soil, making sure the strips overlap by about 10 to 20 cm to prevent weeds from coming through the joins. The Plantex Gold measures 1 metre in width, which makes it easy to handle, even on sloping or uneven ground.
Fix the fabric with metal staples or plastic pegs, especially if wind or animals might move it. You can then cover the geotextile with gravel or even leave it visible thanks to its natural brown colour. Thanks to its permeability, water infiltrates without stagnating and plants receive their nutrients without difficulty.
At Minéral, this item is in stock, available for online sale, or for in-store pickup.
The price depends on the size, the strength, the length, and the width. At Minéral, we offer Plantex Gold at €3.50/m², an excellent value for money for a premium product. This felt is sold by the meter, which lets you adapt your purchase to the exact area to be covered. You can also order it as a full roll if you have a large garden project, or landscaping project.
The non-woven is ideal for use with gravel, under a mulch fabric, in ponds, or to separate different materials in the ground. It is also recommended for protecting plantings against vegetation, with good tensile strength and resistance to moisture.
Our products are ready to be delivered anywhere in France, Belgium, Luxembourg or Germany, or available in store. See our shop, our customer reviews, or our product page for more information.
Today it is one of the best ways to fight weeds in the garden or in landscaped areas. Thanks to its non-woven structure, the felt effectively blocks sunlight, thus preventing the germination of unwanted seeds. At the same time, its permeability allows water to infiltrate the soil, while letting through air and liquid fertilizers. Result: your plants breathe better and the mulch stays clean.
A quality non-woven fabric, such as Plantex Gold, has an exceptional lifespan, exceeding 20 years under normal conditions of use. Thanks to its mechanical strength, permeability, and manufacturing quality, this felt remains effective for a very long time, even outdoors. It does not tear, does not degrade on contact with water, and retains its protective properties against weeds.
