4. FINE or heavy?

The real question: should the wall be highlighted or naturally integrated into its surroundings?

THIN COPING

Thickness 3 or 4 cm: the standard

Its low profile highlights the wall without being too obtrusive. Perfect for contemporary lines.

Thickness 6 cm and up

More massive and visually imposing, it creates a true frame around the pool.

5. With or without drip edges: which coping to choose?

WITH DRIP MOULDS
The recommended choice. The drip edge, usually located 1 to 1.5 cm from the edge, prevents rainwater from running down the wall. It limits moisture marks, protects facades, and improves the durability of the structure. This is the solution we recommend for most projects.

NO TEARS
We also offer coping without a drip edge to provide a more economical solution. If you choose this version, we recommend creating a drip edge directly on site (groove under the coping) to achieve the same drip break effect and effectively protect the wall from runoff.

6. WHAT WIDTH SHOULD I CHOOSE?

25, 30, 35 or 40 cm?

Measure the final width of your wall (including render, cladding), then add approximately 5 cm. This margin allows the drip edges (drip beads) to extend on each side to properly drain rainwater.

Examples:

  • Finished wall 25 cm → coping 30 cm
  • Finished wall 30 cm → coping 35 cm

Our copings are available in 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm. In most projects, 30 cm and 35 cm widths are the most commonly used.

7. UNDERSTANDING FINISHES

AGED
The aged finish softens the edges and gives the stone a slightly weathered look, as if it has already stood the test of time. It adds charm and depth for a more authentic appearance, without altering the natural character of the stone.

rough textured
The stone fully reveals its texture thanks to finishes such as split-faced, sandblasted or bush-hammered. These textured surfaces offer a natural, authentic look and a strong mineral character.

SAWN
The stone is sawn to obtain a flat and regular surface. This finish highlights the natural color and nuances of the stone while offering a sober, contemporary and refined look.

How to maintain natural stone coping?

Maintaining natural stone copings is simple but essential to preserve their original appearance. After installation, we recommend performing a post-construction cleaning to remove any cement, glue, or grout residue.

To permanently protect the stone against water, dirt, and stains, applying a water repellent is also advisable.

Recommended products:

Regular cleaning with clear water or a mild soap is then sufficient to maintain the aesthetic appeal of your copings for many years.
